Finale Ray Charles achieved great success in the 1950s with Atlantic Records, releasing numerous hits such as "What'd I Say," and reaching the pinnacle of R&B and gospel music. In the 1960s, he signed with ABC and released "Georgia on My Mind," which became a number one hit. In 1962, his own record label, Tangerine Records, released the album "Modern Sounds in Country & Western Music," a reinterpretation of country music, and the single "I Can't Stop Loving" also reached number one on the Billboard Pop Chart. The following year, it won a Grammy Award and became the best-selling album by a Black musician, and even within country music. The subsequent release, Vol. 2, also received high praise, changing the course of popular music and solidifying Ray's reputation as a genius. In 1973, he left ABC and simultaneously closed Tangerine Records, establishing Crossover Records. After approximately 50 years, Tangerine Records was revived, and in 2021, a 6-CD box set titled "True They released "Genius," and subsequently remastered and re-released previously hard-to-find classic albums on LP and CD.
