When Levee Breaks Joanna Connor was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1962. In 1984, she moved to Chicago, the heartland of the blues, and honed her guitar skills by performing in clubs with Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, and others. She signed with Blind Pig and debuted in 1989 with "Believe It!". She has consistently released albums such as her second album "Fight" in 1992 and "Slidetime" in 1998, establishing herself as the queen of blues-rock guitar. In 2002, she released "The Joanna Connor Band" on MC Records. In 2003, he released the unique collaborative work "Mercury Blues" with a chamber orchestra, but after that, he distanced himself from the scene. In the 2010s, he gradually resumed his activities. In 2014, a stunning video of him performing a slide and tapping solo at a blues festival became a sensation, racking up over 16 million views on YouTube. This led him to declare a full comeback, releasing "Six String Stories" in 2016 and "Rise" in 2019. Now based in Chicago clubs, he is attracting attention by performing at festivals around the world.
