In 2000, he formed Trampled Under Foot with his brothers Nick and Chris. They debuted in 2007 with "The Philadelphia Sessions" and won the IBC. After that, they gained popularity with several albums, and in 2013, "Badlands" reached number one on the Billboard Blues chart. He also won the Contemporary Blues Album and Best Bassist awards at the Blues Music Awards. In 2015, he left the band and made his solo debut with the album "Wolf Den" on Concord Records. The album, which featured Anders Osborne and Luther Dickinson, received critical acclaim. After a live album in 2017, his second album "Cry No More" in 2018 reached number one on the Billboard Blues chart and was nominated for a Grammy the following year. He has also won many other awards, including the Blues Music Awards and Blues Blast Awards, and has participated in various festivals. His latest work is "The Love You Bleed," released in 2024.
