In 1979, he moved to Wisconsin, USA, in search of new opportunities. After that, he worked as a session player based in San Francisco. In 1995, he founded Blue Dot Records and released his first solo album, 'Big Guitar', and in 2000, 'Hiding In Plain Sight'. In 2007, he formed the Anthony Paul Band, featuring Frank Bay, and released "You Don't Know Nothing" in 2012 and "Soul For Your Blues" in 2013. From 2017, he formed the Anthony Paul Orchestra with Wee Willie Walker on vocals, releasing "After A While" and "Not In My Lifetime" in 2021. In 2024, he welcomed Willie Jordan to the band and released "What Are You Waiting For?". These albums have received critical acclaim and have won numerous music awards, including 19 nominations for the Blues Music Awards.
