Born To Rock and Roll Roger McGuinn was born in Chicago in 1942. After graduating from high school, he worked as a session guitarist for Bobby Darin and Judy Collins in New York. Later, he moved to Los Angeles and formed The Byrds with Gene Clark and David Crosby in 1964. They debuted in 1965 with Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man," which became a huge hit as both a single and an album. Their second album, "Turn Turn Turn," released the following year, was also a hit, and they subsequently became a leading folk-rock band that took the world by storm. After the band broke up, he consistently released solo albums, including "Roger McGuinn" in 1973, "Peace on You" in 1974, "Roger McGuinn & Band" in 1975, "Cardiff Rose" in 1976, and "Thunderbyrd" in 1977. He also participated in Dylan's 1975 Rolling Thunder Revue tour. Later, he formed McGuinn, Clark & ??Hillman and released an album in 1980. After the band broke up, he continued to work as a solo artist, mainly performing live. Then, in 1991, he released a comeback album, "Back from Rio," produced by Tom Petty, which became a hit. Since then, he has continued to be active at his own pace, mainly performing live.
