Blue Train Emmett Cohen is a jazz pianist born in Miami, Florida in 1990. Raised in New Jersey, he earned a Master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music. While still a student, he attracted attention through competitions such as the Thelonious Monk Piano Competition, and in 2011 released his first leader album, "In The Element." Since 2016, he has been releasing the "Master Legacy Series," a project that carries on tradition in the modern era through dialogues with jazz masters such as Jimmy Cobb, Ron Carter, and Benny Golson. In 2019, he won the American Pianist Award, establishing his international reputation. During the 2020 pandemic, he started the "Live From Emmett's Place" series, streamed from his home, which has become popular as a "jazz salon" featuring a wide range of artists. After signing with Mac Avenue, he has consistently released albums as a trio, including "Future Stride" in 2021, "Uptown in Orbit" in 2022, and "Vibe Provider" in 2024, and has toured festivals and clubs around the world. In 2025, he was named DownBeat magazine's Pianist of the Year.
