Suter is a blues and soul singer born in Brooklyn, NY in 1963. She debuted in 1990 with the single "Slam Me Baby" as the first Black woman to sign with Epic/Sony. Her powerful vocals became a hot topic, and she became a hit in the club music scene, appearing on various compilations. In 2005, she made her solo debut with the album "Shuga Fix". Her intense live performances caught the eye of Levon Helm, who saw her open for him, and she became a regular performer at Midnight Rumbles. Subsequently, under the band name, they released albums such as "Live at the Midnight Ramble" in 2006 and "Just Another Fool" in 2008. Their 2014 album "Love the Way You Roll" earned them a nomination for the Koko Taylor Award at the Blues Music Awards. They have continued to release albums consistently since then, including "All For Loving You" in 2016, "Hat Trick" in 2017, "Be Love" in 2019, and "Just Stay High" in 2025. They have also opened for artists such as B.B. King and Etta James and performed at many festivals.
