Lessons Kara Grainger is from Sydney, Australia. Around the age of 16, he joined his older brother Mitch's band, Papa Lips, as the vocalist and guitarist. In 1996, they released the EP "Harmony," and in 1998, the album "High Time Now," both receiving numerous radio airplays. He began his solo career in 2006, releasing his debut album "Grand and Green River" in 2008. The album remained in the Top 30 of the Americana charts for over 30 weeks. In 2011, he released "LA Blues." After that, he moved his base of operations to the United States, touring throughout the US and Europe, and opening for artists such as Robert Plant and Buddy Guy. In 2013, he released "Shiver & Sai" from the West Coast Delta Groove scene, featuring an impressive lineup of musicians including James Gadson (Drums) and Mike Finnegan (Keyboards). In 2018, with Anderson Osborne as producer and backed by talented New Orleans musicians such as Ivan Neville, they released "Living with Your Ghost."
