He gained attention for his soulful playing in a nine-piece band that played jazz and jump blues. After releasing several albums, in the 1990s he joined the Fabulous Thunderbirds as guitarist after Jimmie Vaughan left, participating in classic albums such as "Hot Stuff". In parallel, he has consistently released solo albums, including "Rockin' Blues" in 1988 and "New Guitar Summit" in 2004, bringing his total to over 20 albums. His 2015 album "Acoustic Blues & Roots of" won the BMA Acoustic Album of the Year award. In 2017, he released the jazz album "Duke and His Dames of Rhythm," featuring many female singers as guests, and he continues to release albums almost every year.
