Cordovas is an Americana band formed in Nashville in 2011 by Joe Firstman. Firstman was born in North Carolina in 1979 and moved to California in the 2000s to begin his solo career. She won an LA Music Award in 2001 and made her major label debut in 2003 with the album "The War of Women" on Atlantic Records. The album received critical acclaim and she was featured on the opening credits of artists such as Sheryl Crow and Willie Nelson. From 2005, she served as the house bandleader for the NBC TV show "Last Call with Carson Dairy," with members including Kamasi Washington and Thundercat. After the show ended in 2009, she focused on her solo career, releasing albums such as "El Porto" in 2010 and "Love Bravely" in 2014. In parallel, she formed Cordovas with Lucca Soria and others in 2011 and released their first album, "Cordovas." Subsequently, she signed with ATO and released critically acclaimed albums such as "That Santa Fe Channel" in 2018, "Destiny Hotel" in 2020, and "The Rose of Aces" in 2023.
