Still The One Orleans was a rock band formed in 1972 in Woodstock, New York, centered around session guitarist John Hall, along with Wells Kelly and Larry Hoppen, who had been active in Bofalongo since the late 1960s. They gained attention through performances at local clubs and universities, and collaborations with Bonnie Raitt and Tom Waits, and were described as "America's best unrecorded band" despite not having debuted yet. They later signed with ABC and released 'Orleans' in 1973 and 'Orleans II' in 1974, but things didn't work out with the record company, so they moved to The Asylum. Then, in 1975, their album "Let There Be Music" became a huge hit, featuring a re-recorded version of "Dance with Me" from their previous album. Furthermore, "Still the One" from their 1976 album "Waking and Dreaming" was used as a theme song for television and radio, solidifying their popularity. However, after the hit "Love Takes Time" from their 1979 album "Forever," their popularity began to decline. The band continues to perform today, despite numerous member changes.
