Show Me The Sunshine Ray Charles, who had many hits in the 1950s with Atlantic, including "What'd I Say," and reached the pinnacle of the R&B and gospel world, signed with ABC in the 1960s and released "Georgia on My Mind," which became a No. 1 hit. Then, in 1962, he released a new interpretation of country music, "Modern Sounds in Country & Western Music," on his own record label Tangerine Records, and the single "I Can't Stop Loving" also reached No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Chart. The following year, it won a Grammy Award and became the best-selling album by a Black musician, and even within country music. Volume 2, released afterward, also received high praise, changing the course of popular music and serving as proof that Ray was considered a genius. He left ABC in 1973 and simultaneously closed Tangerine Records. He then established Crossover Records. After about 50 years, he revived Tangerine Records and released the 6-CD box set "True Genius" in 2021. Since then, he has been remastering and re-releasing hard-to-find classic albums on LP and CD.
