World of Trouble 14. Shout the Boogie Candace Ivory is a blues and soul singer born in Memphis in 1982. Born into a musical family, she was a member of a gospel group from a young age. She studied under her great-uncle, internationally renowned blues singer Will Roy Sanders, and began working professionally at the age of 14. At the age of 18, she moved to New York and participated in Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead residency, where she studied music seriously under Cecil Bridgewater and others. In 2003, she released the soul jazz album "path ? undefined". Subsequently, his albums "Questography" (2005) and "Love Music" (2015), both featuring all-original compositions and showcasing his versatile playing across a wide range of instruments from piano and organ to percussion, received critical acclaim. Then, in 2023, he released "When the Levee Breaks: The Music of Memphis Minnie" on Little Village, produced by Charlie Hunter to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Memphis Minnie's death, which won numerous music awards, including the Blues Music Award. He is currently based in St. Louis.
