He is the son of Gregg Allman. He rarely saw Gregg as a child due to his parents' divorce. In 1999, he formed the Southern rock band Honey Tribe. They gradually rose to prominence in their hometown of St. Louis and went on a whirlwind of live tours. In 2006 they released their first album, 'Torch', and in 2010, 'Space Age Blues'. In 2012, he formed the supergroup Royal Southern Brotherhood with Cyril Neville and Mike Zito. He released several albums and went on world tours. Simultaneously, he released solo albums "Turquoise" in 2013 and "Rugged & Dirty" in 2014. He then left the band to focus on his solo career and released "Ride or Die" in 2016. In 2018, he formed The Allman Betts Band with Allman's sons Duane Betts and Berry Oakley Jr., and released "Down To The River" in 2019, "Bless Your Heart" in 2020, and a live album. In 2024, he released his first solo album in a long time, "Miami Moon".
