Cool Change Firefall was a supergroup formed in Colorado in 1974 when Rick Roberts (G&Vo) of the Flying Burrito Brothers and Jock Bartley (G&Vo), who had been active in the Gram Parsons Band and Zephyr, hit it off and added Michael Clarke (Dr) of The Byrds and Mark Andes (B) of Spirit. Later, David Mews (Key) also joined, and they debuted in 1976 with their album 'Firefall'. They toured with bands like the Doobie Brothers and The Band, and their song "You Are the Woman" became a top 10 hit. After that, they consistently released albums and had hits, such as "Luna Sea" in 1977 and "Elan" in 1978, but internal conflicts and health problems led to members like Rick leaving the band. They continued to perform under Jock's leadership, with repeated member changes, but they stopped releasing music. They continued to perform live sporadically, and in 1994 they made a comeback with "Messenger," resuming live performances, and in the 2010s they began to tour in earnest. In 2020 they released "Comet," their first original album in 25 years, and in 2023 they released "Friends & Family."
