Ilia Laitchinen was born in Finland in 1976. He began his career as a guitarist at the age of 15. In 2002, he released "Attention!" under the name Ilia Laitchinen & Dave's Special on his local Blue Light Records. He released '' in 2003, his solo debut album ''Wildflower'', and in 2005, he released ''It's A Blessing'' with Davide. He signed with Germany's RUF Records and released ''Dreamland Blues'' in 2006, featuring the Kimbrough brothers as guests. After that, he released ''Grip of the Blues'' in 2008, ''Volacious Love'' in 2010, and in 2012, the culmination of his work, the live CD+DVD ''Songs From the Road'', steadily building his skills. Then, in 2013, he left RUF after ''Forbidden Fruit'', and released ''Sky Is Crying'' in 2014, ''Another World'' in 2019, and ''Waiting for the Daylight'' in 2022 on his own label TUOHI. In 2025, he released the 20th anniversary live album ''20 Years of Blues Rock!''.
