Disc 1, tracks 1-14, features recordings from The Vagrants, the blue-eyed soul band formed by Leslie West. Disc 2 contains live recordings of Energy, the band Corky Laing formed with Felix Pappalardi (including the original tracks for songs like "Mississippi Queen"). He started his career in the mid-60s with the blue-eyed soul band, The Vagrants. There he met bassist Felix Pappalardi, who was then making a name for himself as Cream's producer, and in 1969 he released his solo album "Mountain". They then formed Mountain and performed at Woodstock. Corky Laing, who was the drummer for Pappalardi's previous band, Energy, also joined, and in 1970 they released their debut album "Climbing!", with "Mississippi Queen" becoming a hit. After releasing two more albums, they disbanded. West and Jack Bruce formed Bruce & Laing and released "Why Don't You?" in 1972, but they disbanded. In 1975 he released solo albums such as "The Great Fatsby". He consistently released albums from the 1980s onward, and Mountain also reunited intermittently. He also made guest appearances on albums by Ozzy Osbourne and others. In 2011, he had his right leg amputated due to diabetes, but made a miraculous comeback with the release of "Unusual Suspects," which featured Slash and others. However, in 2020, he suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Florida and died at the age of 75.
