Down in the Flood (with Fairport Convention) Sandy Denny is a folk-rock singer-songwriter born in London in 1947. In 1967, she joined the Strawbs and recorded an album. The song "Who Knows Where the Time Goes?" was covered by Judy Collins and others and gained attention. In 1968, she joined Fairport Convention (FC) and released three albums, including "Liege & Lief," in 1969 before leaving the band. In 1970, she formed Fotheringay and released "Fotheringay," but the band disbanded. In 1971, she duetted with Robert Plant on "The Endless Battle" from Led Zeppelin IV. After that, she released solo albums: "The North Star..." in 1971, "Sandy" in 1972, and "Like an Old..." in 1974. In 1974, she rejoined Fotheringay and participated in a world tour, as well as live and studio albums. She then returned to a solo career and released "Rendezvous" in 1977. However, in April 1978, she died at the young age of 31 from drug and alcohol abuse, as well as a fall down the stairs. After her death, her work was re-evaluated, many recordings were released, and she is still considered one of Britain's greatest female singer-songwriters.
