This Is Hip Philip Sayce was born in England in 1976 and raised in Toronto, Canada. Influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and Mark Knopfler, he began playing guitar. While playing in the Toronto club scene, he caught the eye of Jeff Healey and joined Healey's band in 1996. That same year, he made his debut as a leader with his album "Philip Sayce Group." In 2001, he moved to LA and joined Uncle Cracker in 2002. In 2003, he was selected as Melissa Etheridge's guitarist, gaining attention throughout the United States. His albums "Peace Machine" (2005) and "Silver Wheel of Stars" (2007) were released in Japan and became huge hits. Since then, he has consistently released albums through Provogue, including "Innerevolution" (2010), "Ruby Electric" (2011), and "Steamroller" (2012), and through Warner Canada, "Influence" (2014) and "Scorched Earth: Volume 1" (2016). In 2020, they released "Spirit Rising" exclusively as a digital download.
