Waltz About Whiskey Watchhouse (formerly Mandolin Orange) is a male-female folk duo formed in 2009 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, by Andrew Marlin, a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who plays mandolin, banjo, organ, bass, and drums, and Emily Franz, who plays violin and guitar. They debuted in 2010 with "Quiet Little Rooms". In 2011, they released "Haste Make/Hard Hearted Stranger," and later signed with Yep Roc, releasing "This Side Of Jordan" in 2013. They gained popularity with their superb Americana sound, a mix of bluegrass, gospel, folk, and country. After a long tour, they consistently released albums: "Such Jubilee" in 2015, "Blindfaller" in 2016, and "Tides of a Teardrop" in 2019. They received rave reviews from numerous renowned media outlets such as Rolling Stone and NPR, and performed at Austin City Limits and the Newport Folk Festival. Later, they changed their name to Watchhouse and released "Watchhouse."
