The band consists of four members: John Popper on harmonica and vocals, Brendan Hill (drums), a high school classmate of Popper's, Bobby Sheehan (bass), and Chan Kinkler (guitar). After graduating from high school, they moved to New York and began performing live. Incidentally, Chris Barron of Spin Doctors was also a high school classmate of Popper's. In 1990, they signed with A&M Records and debuted with "Blues Traveler." With their outstanding harmonica technique and powerful vocals, they gradually gained popularity and performed at various festivals, including Lollapalooza. They consistently released albums, and in 1994, their fourth album, "four," became a major breakthrough. The single "Run-Around" was also a huge hit and won a Grammy. Since then, they have consistently released albums and appeared in various films and media, including "Blues Brothers 2000," establishing a solid position in the music industry. Their 14th album, "Traveler's Blues," released in 2021, was nominated for a Grammy. John Popper has also made guest appearances on various artists' albums as a solo artist.
