It's a masterpiece that won both a Grammy Award and a Latin Grammy Award the following year. It's an elegant work in which the legends respond brilliantly to Eliane's soulful playing with a wonderful call and response. Chick Corea) Eliane Elias is a pianist and vocalist born in S?o Paulo, Brazil in 1960. She started playing piano at the age of 7 and began working professionally at 17. After moving to New York in 1981 and studying at the Juilliard School, she joined Michael Brecker's group, Steps Ahead, and participated in their albums. In 1984, she released "Amanda" with her ex-husband Randy Brecker. After that, he consistently released solo albums, starting with "Eliane Elias Plays Jobim (1990)" on Blue Note, and gained popularity for his sound that fused jazz and Brazilian music. His piano album with Herbie Hancock, "Solos and Duets (1995)," was nominated for a Grammy. Other works include the Bill Evans tribute album "Something for You (2007)" and the Chet Baker tribute album "I Thought About You (2013)." In 2021, his collaboration with the late Chick Corea and Chucho Valdes, "Mirror Mirror," won both a Grammy Award and a Latin Grammy Award. His latest album is "Quaietudo (2022)."
