In 1988, at the young age of 22, he made a sensational major debut in the blues and rock scene with "See the Light." Despite being blind, his astonishing guitar playing style?fingerpicking with the guitar resting on his lap like a lap steel guitar?earned him the title of genius. After releasing three original albums, as well as cover albums, best-of albums, and live albums, he shifted gears and released jazz albums in 2002 and 2006. In 2008, he released the long-awaited blues album "Mess of Blues," and his future activities were highly anticipated, but he passed away suddenly just before its release.
