About the Artist: Bobby Rush, born in Homer, Louisiana in 1933. After the war, he moved to Arkansas in 1947 and played with Elmore James and others. In 1953, he moved to Chicago and honed his skills playing with Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, and others. He made his solo debut in 1964 with the single "Someday." After that, he released singles on many labels including Checker, Galaxy, and Jewel, and released his first album, "Rush Hour," in 1979. Since then, he has continued to release albums energetically from the 1980s to the present day, and is active as the King of the Chitlin' Circuit. His recent achievements have been particularly remarkable, including a Grammy nomination in 2000, induction into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2006, and winning two awards at the 2015 Blues Music Awards. In the same year, he also appeared in the music documentary film "I AM THE BLUES," attracting considerable attention. Then, with the release of "Porcupine Meat" in 2016, he finally achieved his long-held dream of winning the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album. His latest work, "Sitting on Top of the Blues" (2019), was also nominated for a Grammy.
