This extremely rare and legendary recording, featuring Steve Gadd and Mingo Lewis who were only members for a short period during the golden age of the second incarnation of Return to Forever, is finally being released to the public. About the Artist: Return to Forever is an American fusion band. After leaving Miles Davis's group, Chick Corea released his solo album, 'Return to Forever' (1972), on ECM. Stanley Clarke (bass), Joe Farrell (saxophone), Airto Moreira (drums), and Flora Purim (vocals), who participated in this project, formed a band using the album title as their name. This was the first iteration of Return to Forever, and their 1973 album, "Light as a Feather," released by Polydor, was nominated for two Grammy Awards that year. In the second iteration, Joe, Airto, and Flora were replaced by Bill Connors (guitar), Steve Gadd (drums), and Mingo Lewis (percussion). Steve and Mingo soon left, but Lenny White (drums) joined, and they released "Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy" (1973). After that, they continued to produce hit albums while undergoing member changes, breakups, and reformations, and influenced the scene as an innovative band that brought electric elements to jazz.
