About the Artist: The Neville Brothers are a New Orleans funk band comprised of the four Neville brothers. The band was formed by the eldest brother Art (Key) and the youngest brother Cyril (Per), who had previously performed with The Meters; the second brother Charles (Sax), who worked as a session musician in New York; and the third brother Aaron (Vo), who had achieved success as a solo singer. They debuted in 1978 with their album "The Neville Brothers" on Capitol Records. Their second album, "Fire on the Bayou" (1981), released on A&M Records, received high praise from music critics, and their song "Healing Chant" from "Yellow Moon" (1989) won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. They continued to release music energetically and were very active in live performances, including headlining the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival every year. They visited Japan many times and performed at Fuji Rock in 2009, but Aaron left the band in 2012 to focus on his solo career. Charles passed away in 2018, and Art passed away in 2019.
