About the Artist: Lydia Persord is a 24-year-old soul, folk, and jazz singer born in Toronto, Canada in 1994. She sang in gospel church from a young age and discovered soul music through the TV program "VH1 Divas Live," where she saw Mariah Carey, Carole King, and others. She then majored in jazz at the Humber School of Music, winning the Oscar Peterson Jazz Award in 2013. Following that, she released albums such as "Our Own" (2013) and "Stay Warm" (2018) as a member of the female folk trio The O'Pears, developing refined vocal harmonies over five years. She has also collaborated with various artists including Jill Barber and Lee Fields, and is a member of the popular young Canadian cover band, Dwayne Gretzky. She has also worked as a support musician for artists such as Gordon Lightfoot and David Crosby. His 2017 solo debut EP, "Low Light," achieved the remarkable feat of reaching the top 10 on CBC Music, and he has since performed at many major events, including the Toronto Jazz Festival.
