About the Artist: Matt Dusk, whose real name is Matthew Aaron Dusk, is a jazz singer born in Toronto, Canada in 1978. At the age of 7, he entered the prestigious St. Michael's Choir School in his hometown, where he studied opera and classical music. At the age of 17, he switched to jazz after listening to songs by Tony Bennett and Sarah Vaughan. In 1998, he won the CNE Rising Star Competition, a competition to discover the next generation of stars. In the same year, he entered York University, where he studied under Oscar Peterson and Bob Fenton, learning jazz theory and vocal techniques. While still a student, in 2001, he released his debut album, "The Way It Is," on the independent label Royal Crown Records. In 2003, he signed with Decca, and the following year's release, "Two Shots," achieved gold status. Furthermore, their 2006 hit "Back In Town" also reached number one on the Japanese radio charts. They came to Japan in 2013 for Tokyo Jazz. In 2015, they released a duet album with Karen Aoki, "Matt & Karen Lost In Rio," and made another visit to Japan, creating quite a buzz.
