About the Artist: Donna the Buffalo is an Americana band formed in Trumansburg, a rural town in New York State. Tara Nevins (vocals, fiddle, accordion) and Jeb Payar (vocals, guitar, pedal steel) met at a fiddle convention and hit it off. They played their first live show in 1989 and subsequently began performing as a six-member band. They debuted in 1989 with "The White Tape." Then, in 1991, they started their local event, the Finger Lake Grassroots Festival (commonly known as the Grassroots Festival), which has become their life's work. The Grassroots Festival has since spread to North Carolina and Florida, and is now one of America's most famous outdoor festivals, held annually in various locations. They have also performed at major events such as Bonnaroo and Marlfest, and have consistently released albums, including "Donna the Buffalo" in 1993 and "Positive Friction" in 2000. Leading the new Americana music scene with genres like New Grass and Alternative Country, they have established a solid position in the United States.
