About the Artist: Archie Lee Hooker was born on a farm in the rural town of Inverness, Mississippi. His uncle was John Lee Hooker. At the age of 13, he moved to the big city of Memphis with high hopes. In his teens, he formed the gospel group The Marvelous Five and performed in Memphis and New Orleans. In 1989, he moved to the West Coast of California to live with his uncle John Lee. There, he was immersed in the blues, frequently performing and recording with him, gaining a wealth of experience. In 1995, he embarked on his first European tour with Carl Wyatt & The Rhythm Kings, recording and releasing his first album, "Suicide Blues," during the tour. Afterwards, he moved to France, releasing "Far From Home" with Sean Gonzalez in 1999, "Archie Lee Hooker Jr.'s Best," and "New Church of the Blues" in 2002, which included John Lee's last live performance. In 2011, he formed his current band, Coast to Coast Blues Band. In 2016, he recorded "Chilling," which was finally released in 2018.
