About the Artist: Vanja Sky is a 23-year-old newcomer blues guitarist from Croatia. Just five years ago, she started frequenting live music clubs in her neighborhood, Buzet, and was so impressed by the music she heard there that she immediately bought a guitar online. Her influences include guitarists like Rory Gallagher, Albert King, and SRV. She learned guitar from musicians performing at the clubs, and just two years later, she moved to the capital, Zagreb, and joined a blues band. She toured in Serbia, Slovenia, and Germany, honing her skills. Then, in 2017, she signed with RUF Records, a German label renowned for developing blues female talent. She immediately traveled to the United States and began recording her first album, "Bad Penny," in a studio in Tennessee under producer Jim Gaines. At the same time, she is currently gaining experience and making remarkable progress through tour rehearsals with seasoned guitarists Bernard Allison and Mike Zito, teammates of Bruce Caravan, with whom she is scheduled to tour starting in 2018. She is undoubtedly a Cinderella girl who will blossom this year.
