Synopsis: The first animated adaptation of Haruki Murakami's works! "The Blind Willow and the Sleeping Woman," which won the Special Jury Prize at the world's largest Annecy International Animation Film Festival and the inaugural Grand Prix at the Niigata International Animation Film Festival. This film is the first animated film based on Haruki Murakami's works, directed by musician and animator Pierre Foldes, who has reconstructed six of Murakami's short stories: "Froggy Saves Tokyo," "Birthday Girl," "Little Grebe," "The Wind-Up Bird and the Tuesday Women," "UFO Lands in Kushiro," and "The Blind Willow and the Sleeping Woman." Through a unique technique based on live-action filming and meticulous sound design, the film brilliantly visualizes the mysterious and raw reality of Murakami's works. The music is, of course, composed by director Pierre Foldes, who is also active as a musician.
