Starring Martin Lund and Barbara Payne, the famous couple from "Mission: Impossible," and supported by veteran actors such as Barry Morse from "The Fugitive." An explosion at a lunar base sends the moon out of orbit into space, and the crew of Moonbase Alpha wanders the universe with the moon, encountering and resolving various dangers... Season 1 aired from 1974 to 1975. The music is by Barry Gray, an indispensable composer for Gerry Anderson's works. Season 2 aired from 1976 to 1977. Derek Wadsworth took over the music from Barry Gray. While the fantastical storyline and the spaceships featured are captivating, the immersive music also has a strong appeal to fans. This CD release marks the first time the music from Season 2 has been released, offering a complete and enjoyable experience of the charm of Space: 1999.
