About the Artist A hip-hop and swing band from the Lulla region of Sweden. Originally formed as a brother unit by Joan, who serves as lead singer and lyricist, and Anders, who handles DJing, composition, and production. At the time of their formation, they called themselves Planeten Jorden and released songs mainly consisting of acoustic-style hip-hop and reggae music. Later, saxophonist Joachim joined, forming the current trio. Eventually, the three changed their band name to "Movits!", after the legendary Swedish musician. In 2005, they began performing live, mainly in Europe. Later, they became fascinated by drums and horns with jazz elements, and their sound gradually changed. They named their sound "?ppelknyckarjazz" (??Applestealingjazz: named after the trousers favored by Swedish street kids in the 1930s and 40s), and their popularity gradually spread worldwide. Their long-awaited debut album, "?ppelknyckarjazz," released in 2008, became an instant hit. It was released not only in Europe but also in the United States digitally the following year. They brought in more than 10 musicians to the studio for the recording of their songs, and the recording process took more than three years. Furthermore, rapping in their native Swedish is part of the band's identity, and the lyrics often deal with social issues. Their hit single "Fel Del Av Garden," despite its upbeat rhythm and stylish music video, questions the structure of a massive capitalist society. In April 2011, they released their second album, "Out Of My Head," worldwide. Earlier this year, they embarked on a highly successful US and Canadian tour that lasted over two months. Then, in February 2012, they finally made their long-awaited debut in Japan. At Shinjuku OTO in the middle of the night, Yoann's rap, Anders' DJ/guitar playing, and Joachim's saxophone resonated throughout the packed venue, creating an electrifying night. They are currently preparing a new album, aiming for a 2013 release. Don't miss out on these coolest swing guys right now!
