About the Artist: 'UNPAINTED FACE' showcases the light and free vocals, scat singing, whistling, and acoustic guitar of Hawaiian maestro Richard Nat, in a raw and unadorned sound. A superb sunny music experience that could be described as the Hawaiian version of "Voice and Guitar"! 'UNPAINTED FACE 2/2' features Richard singing and playing standard numbers from his musical roots, such as Elvis Presley and Burt Bacharach, as well as works by his influences, such as the Beach Boys, Hall & Oates, and Gino Vannelli, in a more relaxed and comfortable style than usual. The album begins with "CAN'T HELP FALLIN' IN LOVE," a Hawaiian standard that we hope will become like Israel Kamakawiwo?ole's "SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW..." (IZ), and continues with a collection of classic songs by The Beach Boys, The Turtles, Burt Bacharach, James Taylor, Hall & Oates, Elvis Presley, Gino Vannelli, and The Bee Gees, reborn as new songs through tasteful arrangements, maestro guitar playing that expresses them, and his one-of-a-kind voice. The album concludes with the original "THAT'S ALL I EVER WANTED TO DO," reminiscent of the gentle waves of Hawaii, and a superb cover of Jimmy Webb's "BY THE TIME I GET TO PHOENIX"! This is his 8th solo album overall. (His first performance in Japan is also scheduled for autumn 2019!) This is the 4th release from Tropic Hawaii Records.
