Product Description
Music born from several songs and journeys. -FOLKLORE- A melodic journey undertaken by two musicians, sometimes with guitar and guitar, sometimes with piano and ambience.
Spring 2012. A duo formed after meeting at the 3rd anniversary concert of the CD shop "Ame to Kyujitsu". Autumn 2014 saw the release of their 1st album "FOLKLORE". Currently, they are holding a live tour throughout Japan under the name "FOLKLORE". In the autumn of 2014, this album was released in a special paper box and was only available at live venues and select stores. Due to numerous requests, we have decided to release it with a revised jacket design for a commercially distributed version. Since forming the duo in 2012, the two have traveled extensively, like a road movie, and have played melodies that reflect the people they met, the landscapes they saw, the time that passed, and the emotions that overflowed. "FOLKLORE" is a work that documents the ongoing journey of the two artists. For nearly two years, AOKI and nakamura repeatedly held sessions together, building each song one by one, while simultaneously performing live. Mastering was entrusted to Gen Tanabe of Water Water Camel, an artist whom both of them respect and with whom they have performed live before, at their request. AOKI said of "FOLKLORE," "It's music that is with people. Encounters and partings. Emotions such as joy and sadness, and images inspired by the scenery encountered in the places we visited, are turned into music." nakamura describes it as "songs born from travel, or a new journey born from songs." The other CD included as a bonus, "March 16th," is a compilation of recordings from the first session that AOKI and nakamura had after meeting. The album is structured as a double disc with the hope that listeners will feel the journey between two flags, one planted at the start of the journey and another at a certain point along the way.
