Content Introduction The long-awaited new album from The Mysties, a project by members of the popular electronica duo The Boats. A decadent yet sweet hybrid pop reminiscent of recent Bj?rk. The Mysties is a project formed by Andrew Hargreaves of The Boats, a popular UK duo from Manchester that creates delicate and beautiful electronica, and fellow Manchester female vocalist Beth Roberts. Their second album is complete, approximately four years after their first album, "Redemption Forest," which was also released domestically. Beneath the hazy layers of reverb and delay, various musical elements such as post-punk, new wave, ambient, art pop, industrial, and new age are hidden, weaving together mysterious synth sounds, mechanical beats, abstract melodies, and Beth Roberts' mystical and alluringly beautiful vocals to create a decadent yet sweet, futuristic experimental pop. Over the past four years, the song has been recorded, rearranged, and collaged numerous times, and the completed work has been completely reworked. This two-disc set includes an alternative version of the finished album, "Pregnant Mannequin," titled "IVF Treatment Tapes," as a bonus disc. The concept is to compare two completely different versions of the same song. Mastering was handled by Miles Whitaker of Demdike Stare. The CD is a Japan-only release. About the Artist Andrew Hargreaves, who is also a member of the UK electronica duo The Boats, and female vocalist Beth Roberts form a male-female duo. In 2013, they released their debut EP "Stalking / Drawers" and their first album "Redemption Forest" only on LP on The Boats' independent label Other Ideas. In 2014, their first album was released on CD by Preco Records in Tokyo. Andrew Hargreaves is active not only as a solo artist but also in numerous projects such as Tape Loop Orchestra and Bepp.
