Product Description
Introduction Kelly Lee Owens' first new album in two years is an industrial, Celtic-inspired, and mystical work conceived as a blend of Throbbing Gristle and Enya. Having released her second album, "Inner Song," in the midst of the 2020 pandemic, she suddenly faced the cancellation of her world tour. Using this time to begin making music, she headed to Oslo and had the opportunity to spend time in the studio undisturbed, without any major plans. In the sub-zero temperatures with closed borders, she secluded herself in the studio and created this work with Lasse Marhaug, a heavyweight in the avant-noise scene known for his work with Merzbow, Sunn O)), and Jenny Hval. With the concept of creating music that falls between Throbbing Gristle and Enya, this album combines industrial sounds with mystical Celtic music, creating a work that oscillates between tension and liberation. (Although it is actually her 10th album) This album, titled "8th Album," is described by her as "8 signifying completion, an album that resonates infinitely with me personally." *We sincerely apologize, but the bonus track download code that was originally planned will not be included due to circumstances at the original record label. About the Artist An unconventional producer/singer who transitioned from nursing to musician. In 2017, she burst onto the scene with her debut album, which combined minimal techno and dream pop elements. Heavily influenced by Daniel Avery and Ghost Culture, she creates cool, captivating vocals and delicate, charming tracks. After receiving critical acclaim for her debut album, she broke through with collaborations with St. Vincent, Jenny Hval, and Jon Hopkins, as well as a cover of Aaliyah. Then, in August 2020, she released her 2nd album, "Inner Song." Releasing the album during the pandemic meant all her tours were canceled, prompting her to start working on a new album. In 2022, she released the album "LP8," which she considers to be her "completion."
