Clark Hamilton, who is also active in the post-rock three-piece band Safari Williams, had been working on a solo project under the name Stranger Sounding, taking a different approach from his band. He renamed it Clark Sound around the time of his EP release in 2019. After approximately one year of production, he has now released a full album. He frequently uses South American-style rhythm patterns, traversing them with jazz-influenced guitar playing. This alone is compelling, but he further confuses the listener with complex time signatures. With sharp flute playing also heard, the music defies categorization as rock, resulting in a relentless barrage of tracks that blur the lines between world music, progressive rock, and jazz. However, his core identity as a singer-songwriter remains unwavering. It's a truly satisfying release. About the Artist Clark Hamilton is a solo project based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. While he is active as a guitarist in the post-rock three-piece band Safari Williams, he also actively creates his own solo work with a different approach from the band, and continues to upload his works to YouTube and other platforms. His activities are wide-ranging, including the fact that he makes his own equipment. Until now, his releases have all been digital, but this work will finally be released on CD exclusively in Japan.
