This Dutch artist, who lives in Belgium, was formerly a solo project called "Sleeping Dog," and her masterpiece 2nd album "Polar Life," released in 2008, has been reissued. Adam Bryanbaum Wiltsey, an artist who also lives in Brussels and is active in Stars Of The Lid/A Winged Victory For The Sullen, was fully involved in the sound production, as he was in the 1st album (Sleeping Dog later became a duo with him). Simple, warm melodies centered on piano and acoustic guitar that accompany Chantal Akda's irreplaceable voice. The ambient folk sound, featuring string arrangements by Adam Wiltze and delicate ambient and electronic arrangements, remains timeless even more than 10 years after its release. Chantal Akda's songs, sung quietly and gently like a lullaby to soothe a child, have remained hidden like a secret treasure for many years, but now is the time for them to reach a wider audience. About the Artist: Chantal Akda is a solo project by singer-songwriter from the Netherlands, currently residing in Belgium. Since 2006, she has released three albums under the name Sleeping Dog. Since the 2013 album "Let Your Hands Be My Guide," which she made with Nils Frahm and Peter Broderick, she has been active under her real name.
