Product Description
Almaregria is a six-member group formed by Carlos Aguirre and his new bandmates. Centered around diverse rhythms and Carlos's soulful melodies, the members freely exchanged ideas, and after seven years of work, they completed this album, titled "Melody Walking in the Sky," overflowing with the pure joy of singing and playing music?"alegria." Originally released digitally in the fall of 2024 by Carlos Aguirre's label Shagrada Medra, this album has now been released on CD by bar buenos aires in a luxurious 6-panel digipak with artwork personally supervised by Carlos, plus a full-color booklet. If Carlos Aguirre Grupo's "Violeta" sublimated a multi-layered development through compositions that blend jazz, folklore, and chamber music, and arrangements incorporating irregular time signatures, into a refined and ethereal sound world, then this album further develops that endeavor, offering an ensemble overflowing with vitality and joy, played with free playfulness and expansive ideas. The project's core lies in two things: the pursuit of diverse and limitless timbres using not only existing percussion instruments but also everyday objects, and the attempt to analyze and fuse various rhythms passed down in Latin America to develop them into new songs. Seven of the eight tracks are original compositions by Carlos Aguirre. The ensemble was carefully shaped as the members eagerly incorporated flashes of inspiration and experimental ideas as they performed together. Carlos was so captivated by her performance that he proposed forming the group with Luciana Insufran, whose gentle, breezy vocals and accordion playing add to the experience. Gonzalo Diaz, now an indispensable part of Carlos's work, delivers versatile drumming and percussion. Almareglia, which started as a trio with Carlos and these two, has grown into a rare group where rhythm, melody, and harmony resonate beautifully, with six members in total: Fabrizio Amascha, who adds an important element with his expressive electric guitar; Ivan Petrich, who plays a wide variety of percussion instruments and vibraphone; and Sebastian Totzola, who supports the ensemble with deep and emotional bass playing backed by his rich musical background. Liner notes: Hiroshi Yoshimoto (bar buenos aires / resonance music) Official domestic release CD 3-panel gatefold digipak / 8-page full-color booklet / Liner notes
