They debuted in 1986 with "Epicus Doomius Metallicus." Their sound, known as epic doom metal, blends Black Sabbath-esque doom metal with melancholic melodies unique to Europe, and was established the following year with "Nightfall," featuring Messiah Marcolin as vocalist. Although they went on hiatus for a period, they resumed activities in the late 1990s and continue to this day. In 2016, to commemorate their 30th anniversary, they made their first visit to Japan at Loud Park 16. In 2018, original singer Johan Langquist made a surprise return, and in 2019 they released the album "The Door to Doom," successfully holding their first solo concert in Japan in November. At their solo concert in 2024, Candlemast, a legendary artist who pioneered doom metal, generated great excitement, especially among their core fans, showcasing their way of life.
