Introduction: The long-awaited 8th album from Swedish rock champions H.E.A.T is finally here. Formed when the members were in their early twenties, a melodic hard rock band with young members was extremely rare at the time and attracted a lot of attention. They performed at LOUD PARK in 2009 and gained immense popularity in Japan! ...But that was short-lived, as Kenny Lekremo (Vo) left the band in 2010. Eric Gr?nwall (Vo) was then selected to replace him, and the band became one of Sweden's top bands, but Dave Daron (Gt) left in 2013. Eric Rivers (Gt), who joined in Dave's place, also left in 2016. Then Dave (Gt) returned. In 2020, Eric (Vo) left and Kenny (Vo) returned. After many twists and turns, the original members have reunited for the first time in 10 years, releasing their eighth album, "Welcome to the Future," following "Force Majeure" in 2022. Now in their 18th year, Heat's individual talents are recognized in various fields. Kenny (Vo) is participating as a guest vocalist on the new album by Tobias Sammetz's Avantasia, Jimmy (Ba) is participating in Christian Feel's Ginevra, and Jonah (Key) is active in various projects such as New Horizon, which he started to pursue his roots in power metal. The melodies created by these talented musicians retain an 80s feel while constantly evolving. Also, surprisingly, between the release of their previous album in 2022 and this one, Dave Daron (Gt) has changed his name to Sky D (Gt). This album is themed around the future, and each song is a chapter, creating an album that tells a single story. The first track, "Disaster," begins with keyboards reminiscent of the 80s and is an upbeat, catchy song that you'll want to sing along to. The music video retains the hard rock atmosphere of the 80s while moving towards the near future, and is simply cool. The synths layered over the soulful guitar solo in the fourth track sound like the melancholic cry of the protagonist, and the chorus that accompanies Kenny's conversational vocals is deeply moving. This is a superb album that will make even people who have never listened to melodic hard rock a fan. They are currently touring in Sweden, with a South American tour scheduled for May and European festivals in July. And incredibly, they have also announced performances in Japan in June!
