Contents: In 2001, Roland Grapow (G) and Uli Kusch (Ds), then members of Helloween, left the band and formed the power metal band MASTERPLAN with Jorn Lande (Vo), Jan S. Eckhart (B) of current IRON SAVIOR, and Axel McEnrott (Keys). To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of their self-titled debut album in 2003, a special edition reissue has been decided. MASTERPLAN attracted a lot of attention from an early stage as a new band formed by members who had left Helloween, and the content of their completed debut album lived up to the expectations of their fans, including songs that are still staples at their live shows today, such as "Spirit Never Die," "Kind Hearted Light," and "Heroes." Immediately after its release, the album saw a Japanese tour, gaining popularity in Japan as well. It remains a highly regarded work and one of the representative works of German metal/power metal. In addition to its content, the album is also notable for its impressive guest appearances. Most notably, Michael Kiske (Vo), who had left Helloween before Roland and Uli and was distancing himself from the HM/HR industry at the time, made a guest appearance. Other notable points include the full participation of Janne Wirmann (Keys) of Children of Bodom in the recording, and the fact that the album was produced by Andy Sneap, who is currently active in Judas Priest. This reissue will include tracks not included in the original Japanese release, as well as bonus tracks of live recordings by the original lineup. The domestic release will be on SHM-CD.
