Contents: Joe Vana's music career began with a chance encounter with Jim Peterik of Survivor. Jim taught him everything about music and the music business, and for many years Joe worked as Jim's exclusive demo singer. Eventually, Joe and Jim formed Mecca to realize their vision of forming a band. They debuted in 2002 with their self-titled album, "Mecca," released by Avalon. The members at the time were David Hungate (B) [formerly of Toto], Fergie Frederickson (Vo) [formerly of Toto], Joe Vana (Vo), Shannon Forrest (Dr), Mike Aquino (G), and Jimmy Nicholas (Key). This album became a hot topic among melodic rock/AOR fans at the time. Following that, they released "Undeniable" (2011) and "III" (2016), both featuring Tommy Denander as songwriter, and now, approximately seven years after their previous work, their latest studio album is finally complete. This album features Alessandro Del Vecchio on keyboards and as producer, and boasts a lineup of guest musicians including Tommy Denander (a Mecca regular), Stefano Lionetti of Lionville, Pete Alpenborg, and Vivian LaRue, resulting in a high-quality melodic album.
