Jorde says, "The songs turned out well, and the process was satisfying, so we decided to try a full-length album." Changing their record box set plans, the two songs the band first recorded were released as the single "Freshless and Wild" as a gift to the fans who supported their reunion. Starting in the fall of 2021, Jorde began recording for the album's release at Rorysound Studios in Uppsala, Sweden, working with Laurence McCrory of Darkane. He spent two weeks on drums, two weeks on guitar and bass, and two three-day sessions on vocals. Jorde said, "We wanted to see our current sound from a new perspective.
