Content Introduction: This is the 13th studio album from Candlemass, known as a pioneer and leading figure in epic doom metal. Following the return of original vocalist Johan Langquist (Vo) on their previous album, the band shocked fans with a return to their roots. This album maintains their slow, heavy, and dark worldview, demonstrating their dignity and presence as kings of the genre. Their unique sound, influenced by bands like Black Sabbath, is heavy yet possesses a distinctly Nordic melancholy, a hallmark since their debut album, 'Epicus Doomicus Metallicus'. Their next album, 'Nightfall', featuring Messiah MacAullin on vocals, solidified their doom metal style, showcasing their individuality to the world. Since then, they have released 12 studio albums, undergoing member changes, hiatuses, and reunions. Their long-standing achievements have been recognized, and they are a national band in their native Sweden, having won a Grammy Award. The band made their long-awaited first visit to Japan in 2016, the year they celebrated their 30th anniversary, performing at Loud Park. Then, in 2019, they held their first solo concerts in Japan, in Tokyo and Osaka. The latter concert, in particular, drew a large crowd as it was the first time fans could see the band perform a full set live in Japan.
