Released on April 11th by Jagjaguwar, "SABLE, fABLE" is the project's first album in six years and features a love story set to fresh and sparkling pop music. Beginning with the three-track EP "SABLE," released last fall, this album seamlessly unfolds into a new saga (story) of nine tracks where one becomes two, darkness turns into salmon-colored beauty, and sadness transforms into uncontrollable joy. While "SABLE," was a tenuous and solitary break from the pain that had long defined the past, "fABLE" looks towards a vibrant future full of light, purpose, and possibilities?a partner, new memories, and perhaps even family. Ahead of its April 11th release, Bon Iver will officially enter the "fABLE" era this Valentine's Day with "Everything Is Peaceful Love." The single will be released with a music video shot and edited by John Wilson, the filmmaker for HBO's "How To with John Wilson." Produced by Justin Vernon and Jim-E Stack, "SABLE, fABLE" was primarily recorded at Vernon's April Base in Wisconsin. The album's concept was born on 2.22.22 (February 2, 2022) when Stack arrived at April Base with Danielle Haim. Over several snow-covered days, Vernon and Haim's voices intertwined on "If Only I Could Wait." This duet is a song with the important perspective that "outside of the brilliance of new love, you don't have the strength to be your best version." If 'SABLE,' is the prologue, then 'fABLE' is the book. But together, 'SABLE, fABLE' is an album, not a fairy tale. There may be undeniable healing in the immersion, and the intense clarity, focus, honesty, and celebration that it brings to these songs. "Everything Is Peaceful Love" is a portrait of a man overwhelmed with happiness after meeting the person he falls in love with. But the shadow of 'SABLE,' still looms, and even when you try to reset and start anew, old feelings can return. Like a fable, each track instills a lesson. 'fABLE' sings about the selfless rhythm needed when dealing with others and lovers?the patient commitment to finding a pace to get better, and a sense of unity. The avoidant, dense layers of sound that protected Justin Vernon's voice on albums like "i,i" and "22, A Million" are gone. "SABLE, fABLE" is a canvas that lays bare the truth. Justin Vernon will discuss "SABLE, fABLE" further on February 21 in a multifaceted conversation with Krista Tippett (The On Being Project), a Peabody Award-winning broadcast writer, National Humanities Medalist, and New York Times bestselling author. Bon Iver, which began as a solo project by Wisconsin-born singer-songwriter Justin Vernon, released his debut album "For Emma, ??Forever Ago" in 2008, gaining immense popularity from music media, critics, and artists worldwide. The track "Woods" from his EP "Blood Bank" released the same year was later sampled by Kanye West, generating significant buzz.
