His third album, "Ambiguous Desire," is his most fragile, self-affirming, and euphoric to date. Produced by: Baird (Brockhampton, Kevin Abstract) Critically acclaimed artist Arlo Parks, a two-time Grammy nominee and Mercury Prize/Brit Award winner, will release his new album "Ambiguous Desire" on April 3rd via Transgressive Records. For the past two years, Arlo has been pushing forward into the nocturnal space where he can become the person he wants to be. From the queer hedonism of New York's Paradise Garage to the moody nighttime British beats of The Streets and Burial, the glittering synth catharsis of LCD Soundsystem, and the roots-infused house grooves of Theo Parrish, Arlo has always lost herself in the dance floor. 'Ambiguous Desire' is Parks' most confident and experimental work to date. Replacing live band sessions, she utilizes modular synths, Ableton plugins, and samplers to capture the fervent, vibrant spaces she immerses herself in, while simultaneously highlighting the acclaimed poetry and lyricism that are the reasons for her enduring appeal. "While making this album, I danced more than ever, made more friends than ever, immersed myself in the strange underbelly of New York's juke night scene, let loose, and laughed my head off. At the heart of the album is desire. Desire is vitality, aspiration, longing, and a driving force. We all live because we want something or someone. Desire is the driving force. But at the same time, it is mysterious, complex, random, enlightening, and human," Parks says, reflecting on the album's creation. Ambiguous Desire was produced with producer Baird (Brockhampton, Kevin Abstract). Their creative process unfolded between the vibrant New York nightlife and Baird's long, introspective days spent in his downtown loft. The result is Parks' most fragile, self-affirming, and euphoric work to date. Arlo Parks burst onto the scene with his unique blend of raw, self-expressive lyrics and vibrant vocal melodies, subsequently earning two Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album. His 2021 gold-certified debut album, *Collapsed in Sunbeams*, won the Mercury Music Prize. He was also named a Brit Award Breakthrough Artist and nominated for an Ivor Novello Award. Active as both a poet and performer, Parks followed his critically acclaimed album *My Soft Machine* with his first book, *The Magic Border*. This book includes 20 new poems and exclusive photographs by Daniel Lowden, as well as the lyrics from *My Soft Machine*. Arlo also contributed lyrics to Beyonc?'s Grammy Award-winning album *Cowboy Carter*. They have performed at Glastonbury and Coachella, opened for Billie Eilish and Harry Styles, and captivated audiences worldwide on their headline tours. Upon the release of their previous album, 'My Soft Machine', they played on NPR's 'Tiny Desk' and appeared on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' and 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'.
