Product Description
Format: CD Specifications: Jewel Case Specifications 2: Remastered Original Recordings Featuring titles being released on CD for the first time in Japan, this release brings together 12 vocal works from Audiofile, a label whose original LPs are all known to be highly sought after! Audiofile is a record label founded in 1947 by recording engineer Ewing Nunn. Primarily focused on Dixieland jazz, the label also released classical works featuring pipe organ in its early days. After being sold to Happy Jazz Records, another label specializing in Dixieland jazz, in 1969, it was sold to George Buck's Jazzology, which revived progressive records, in the 1970s. Since moving to Jazzology, it has released archival works of popular vocals from the good old days and new recordings of jazz vocals, and has released albums by many jazz singers such as Chris Connor, Carol Sloane, and Mark Murphy, making it a label long loved by vocal fans. Nancy Harlow, the diva who debuted on Candid and later captivated John Lewis and many other musicians, delivers a wonderful studio album in 1978 in New York, backed by the trio of Jack Wilkins, Rufus Reid, and Billy Hart!
